HONEY WHOLE WHEAT BREAD

Bread is always a scary baking task for me. The dough just seems to knead (pun fully intended) so much attention. It’s like the muffin’s kneadier cousin (I crack myself up sometimes).

Something about yeast also is inherently scary. It literally is alive, and to “awaken” it you just add warm water and a bit of sugar. Yet without kneading and yeast, bread ends up being a dense square of overcooked flour. So for my first bread attempt I turned to teammate Jessie Diggins, the T2 Bread Master.

Jessie says I made the bread, but really I just did some measuring and kneading. She was the master braider and really the whole operation was hers. But with the first bread “I made” out of the way, I’m confident I can do it again by myself.

Don’t be scared! You don’t knead any special skills. Just some patience and willingness to try again.
